Day 1

Happy Tuesday 
And congratulations to our new Star of the week Alister! 

In Language today we finished our spelling lesson 5 and we getting ready for the spelling test this coming Thursday as Friday is a PA day and there will be no school for students. Spelling words are listed below. We also did some daily 5 reading today for students to enjoy some quiet time after a busy day. 

Math today we continued with our review. We did a quick review on multiplication and division and also did some practice strategies using base ten blocks and our multiplication chart. We then had some in class time for a division practice worksheet and some textbook practice homework questions. We will take up all the homework tomorrow and the next practice package will be handed for homework and to help students be ready for Thursday. 



In Unit of Inquiry we worked together on an art piece of a native artist by the name of Norval Morisseau. Check out our art work below

Good afternoon SJA families  We started our day with reading buddies ...    Math:  Today in Math we continued practicing multiplying decimals and dividing decimals. Students had a chance to explore the math problems together and come up to answer questions on the white board. Students have expressed the interest in showing the decimals using the base ten blocks.   Math questions have been assigned on page 145 #1,2,3 and page 62+63 also a practice worksheet has been given for practice.  Inquiry into Language: The majority of the class completed their good copy of their speech over this week. Today, they spent part of their morning practicing so that they could memorize their speech. We went over a few helpful tips to remember when trying to memorize their speech. Good afternoon SJA parents Today the grade 4s began their Data Management Assignment. They conducted a survey about the religious demographic of students and teachers in grades 1-5. For this assignment, the grade 4s are being challenged to collect data, create graphs, and interpret their findings using concepts and terminology learned throughout the unit. This is a two day assignment, so the grade 4s will have the opportunity to complete their assignment tomorrow.  Today in language   the grade 4s will continued to work on their speeches. Some students have begun their third paragraph (subtopic 2). Hello SJA parents! Inquiry into Math: Today the grade 4's continued working on a math review. We have reviewed some of our math questions and added some new notes to our math wall.. we have now completed the Show What You Know review from the textbook and began working on our math review worksheets (questions 1-4 have been assigned). Reminder our math test will be on Thursday.  Inquiry into Language: Today in language We discussed chapter 28 as a class and 29 and 30 have been assigned for homework. I have gone over all the worksheets that should be done by now in our Ghosts in the Churchyard package and we have reviewed the missing worksheets that will be assigned this week. Today I assigned the "character card" worksheet that goes along with chapters 28-30. The Ghosts in the Churchyard package will be collected and is expected to be completed in full by Friday.  We also have worked on spelling lesson 23 - our spelling test ...
