Inquiry into Math:
Today the grade 4's completed the unit 3 math test. 

Inquiry into Language:
Today in language we finished our novel Ghosts in the Churchyard!!!! Great job grade 4s we are done our 2nd novel. For homework I have assigned the last worksheet in our package. Students have been asked to write a sequel to the novel. I have gone over all the worksheets that should be done by now in our Ghosts in the Churchyard package. The Ghosts in the Churchyard package will be collected and is expected to be completed in full by Friday.


We also have worked on spelling lesson 23 - Our spelling test will be tomorrow.

Unit of Inquiry :
Today the grade 4s began working on the summative task for Medieval Times. Students have been asked to research an aspect of medieval times and compare it to the same aspect of today's society. They have been tasked with focusing on Form - Change and Connection. Students are expected to produce illustrations showing the same aspect in Medieval times and in today's society, A written report that will compare the two and a medieval announcement that they will present to the class in medieval English. We will be working on this all week and it will be presented on tomorrow.

March Break Camps

Forms have been sent home regarding SJA's Awesome Adventure Camp. This wonderful camp will run from Monday to Friday for the entire March Break (March 9-13 & March 16 -20) and is offered to students from JK to Grade 6. Field trips will take place on Thursday afternoon. Meal plans are also included if you choose to do so. Cash or Quickbooks payments are the accepted forms of payment. Don't delay, register today!

It will close Wednesday, February 26th at 3:00pm sharp

Good afternoon SJA families  We started our day with reading buddies ...    Math:  Today in Math we continued practicing multiplying decimals and dividing decimals. Students had a chance to explore the math problems together and come up to answer questions on the white board. Students have expressed the interest in showing the decimals using the base ten blocks.   Math questions have been assigned on page 145 #1,2,3 and page 62+63 also a practice worksheet has been given for practice.  Inquiry into Language: The majority of the class completed their good copy of their speech over this week. Today, they spent part of their morning practicing so that they could memorize their speech. We went over a few helpful tips to remember when trying to memorize their speech. Good afternoon SJA parents Today the grade 4s began their Data Management Assignment. They conducted a survey about the religious demographic of students and teachers in grades 1-5. For this assignment, the grade 4s are being challenged to collect data, create graphs, and interpret their findings using concepts and terminology learned throughout the unit. This is a two day assignment, so the grade 4s will have the opportunity to complete their assignment tomorrow.  Today in language   the grade 4s will continued to work on their speeches. Some students have begun their third paragraph (subtopic 2). Hello SJA parents! Inquiry into Math: Today the grade 4's continued working on a math review. We have reviewed some of our math questions and added some new notes to our math wall.. we have now completed the Show What You Know review from the textbook and began working on our math review worksheets (questions 1-4 have been assigned). Reminder our math test will be on Thursday.  Inquiry into Language: Today in language We discussed chapter 28 as a class and 29 and 30 have been assigned for homework. I have gone over all the worksheets that should be done by now in our Ghosts in the Churchyard package and we have reviewed the missing worksheets that will be assigned this week. Today I assigned the "character card" worksheet that goes along with chapters 28-30.
