Day 2!

Happy October 1st! 
Congratulations to our star of the week !!!


Today in Math we worked on mental math subtraction and what are some strategies we can use to help us with mental math subtraction. Students were given base ten blocks and other math manipulative to help us use mental math and solve our questions. Students were given in class time to finish textbook page 42 #3, page 43 #4,5,6 and page 46 #4,5,6 and also pages 18-21 in their workbook. 

In language today we read chapters 18-20 in Anne of Green Gables and completed a summary paragraph of these three chapters. Spelling is due tomorrow. Our spelling test is n Friday morning. 

In Unit Of Inquiry we worked on renewable and nonrenewable resources in Canada and did some research in small groups with devices and books to help us finish our research and complete our hands on activity. For homework students were asked to complete a worksheet that helps us to identify renewable resources in everyday life.

Good afternoon SJA parents Today the grade 4s began their Data Management Assignment. They conducted a survey about the religious demographic of students and teachers in grades 1-5. For this assignment, the grade 4s are being challenged to collect data, create graphs, and interpret their findings using concepts and terminology learned throughout the unit. This is a two day assignment, so the grade 4s will have the opportunity to complete their assignment tomorrow.  Today in language   the grade 4s will continued to work on their speeches. Some students have begun their third paragraph (subtopic 2).
