Math
Today in Math we began our review lesson.  Our math test will be next week Tuesday when we return from remembrance day. Today we went over our lessons and reviewed everything fro counting money to volume and mass and even the different measurement units we would use and when. Homework was assigned in the textbook on page 222 #1-6. These questions will be continued tomorrow in class and we will complete the 2nd half of the show what you know review on page 223 #7-12 tomorrow. 

Language 
Today in language we continued to explore report writing and how to gather proper research. Together we have selected some topics and put down our ideas in preparation for our OWA post text next week. See below for our research notes. Students also worked on lesson 9 in spelling this week. Spelling test will be Thursday. 



Unit of Inquiry 
In UOI we continue to work on our light and sound science fair projects and getting ourselves ready for the science fair coming up on Friday the 15th. We have now completed the package and are starting our trials with all of our materials. Students should have gathered all the materials and brought them in to class to begin experiments.

Good afternoon SJA families  We started our day with reading buddies ...    Math:  Today in Math we continued practicing multiplying decimals and dividing decimals. Students had a chance to explore the math problems together and come up to answer questions on the white board. Students have expressed the interest in showing the decimals using the base ten blocks.   Math questions have been assigned on page 145 #1,2,3 and page 62+63 also a practice worksheet has been given for practice.  Inquiry into Language: The majority of the class completed their good copy of their speech over this week. Today, they spent part of their morning practicing so that they could memorize their speech. We went over a few helpful tips to remember when trying to memorize their speech. Good afternoon SJA parents Today the grade 4s began their Data Management Assignment. They conducted a survey about the religious demographic of students and teachers in grades 1-5. For this assignment, the grade 4s are being challenged to collect data, create graphs, and interpret their findings using concepts and terminology learned throughout the unit. This is a two day assignment, so the grade 4s will have the opportunity to complete their assignment tomorrow.  Today in language   the grade 4s will continued to work on their speeches. Some students have begun their third paragraph (subtopic 2). Hello SJA parents! Inquiry into Math: Today the grade 4's continued working on a math review. We have reviewed some of our math questions and added some new notes to our math wall.. we have now completed the Show What You Know review from the textbook and began working on our math review worksheets (questions 1-4 have been assigned). Reminder our math test will be on Thursday.  Inquiry into Language: Today in language We discussed chapter 28 as a class and 29 and 30 have been assigned for homework. I have gone over all the worksheets that should be done by now in our Ghosts in the Churchyard package and we have reviewed the missing worksheets that will be assigned this week. Today I assigned the "character card" worksheet that goes along with chapters 28-30. The Ghosts in the Churchyard package will be collected and is expected to be completed in full by Friday.  We also have worked on spelling lesson 23 - our spelling test ...
