Day 2! Welcome back!

Good Afternoon SJA parents and Happy New Year!

We have implemented some new rules in our classroom, moving forward we will have no assigned seating. Everyday students will come in and decide where they want to sit in the classroom for that day. Tables have been arranged in a way that will allow for students to have the space needed and in having no assigned seating it will allow each students to have good choices each day when deciding where and who they sit with. 

Today in Math we did a review of the math homework that was assigned over the holiday. Check out our notes from math class below! 

In Unit of Inquiry we continue to explore the Jewish faith and today we looked at different symbols and holidays. Each student was assigned a different symbol or holiday and tasked with researching the symbol or holiday and making notes to present to the class. Anything that was not finished in class was assigned for homework. 











In Language today we looked at Journal and Recount writing. Students helped put together a new poster for our language wall that includes some of the key points in journal and recount writing. Students are encouraged to write a journal entry in their notebooks everyday from now until our OWA post test scheduled for next week Tuesday!

Good afternoon SJA parents Today the grade 4s began their Data Management Assignment. They conducted a survey about the religious demographic of students and teachers in grades 1-5. For this assignment, the grade 4s are being challenged to collect data, create graphs, and interpret their findings using concepts and terminology learned throughout the unit. This is a two day assignment, so the grade 4s will have the opportunity to complete their assignment tomorrow.  Today in language   the grade 4s will continued to work on their speeches. Some students have begun their third paragraph (subtopic 2).
