Day 1 !


Good Afternoon SJA Parents &&& Welcome to Year Ahead Day 😊

Today we started our year ahead day with reading buddies! Check us out below ... 




Today in Grade 4 math we explored our place value charts with base text blocks! We looked at what it means to represent numbers with base ten blocks and where the numbers would fit on our place value chart. Check us out below ... 





In language we read the first two chapters from our new novel 'Ghosts in the churchyard' and a chance to redesign the front cover! Ghosts in the churchyard is our 2nd term novel we read that follows the twins Emily and William in the village of Tintinhull, England in the medieval era.
Today the grade 4's had some very creative ways of designing the new front cover ! 





In Unit of Inquiry we looked at Medieval Times, especially Knights and what the clothing looked like for a knight.  We also explored the coat of arms and the grade 4's had a chance to create their own Coat of Arms (just like a knight) and design it the way that best represents their family !

Covid -19 Updates  Hello and Good Morning Everyone, As you are now aware, St. Jude’s Academy will be closed for the next two weeks due to COVID-19. Good afternoon SJA parents Today the grade 4s began their Data Management Assignment. They conducted a survey about the religious demographic of students and teachers in grades 1-5. For this assignment, the grade 4s are being challenged to collect data, create graphs, and interpret their findings using concepts and terminology learned throughout the unit. This is a two day assignment, so the grade 4s will have the opportunity to complete their assignment tomorrow.  Today in language   the grade 4s will continued to work on their speeches. Some students have begun their third paragraph (subtopic 2).
