Hello SJA parents!
Thank you grade 4's for the lovely message on the whiteboard today!!! 

Inquiry into Math:
Today the grade 4s continued their geometry studies and looked at naming and sorting polygons based on their sides and angles. A worksheet has been sent home to continue practicing angles and polygons. The grade 4's were tasked with going around the classroom to see what they could find that had at least one angle! Check us out working hard below... 






Inquiry into Language:
We discussed chapters 15 - 17 of Ghosts in the Churchyard and read chapter 17 as a class. The students are starting to discover the William has a special connection with animals. Chapter 16-18 are to be read for homework and the worksheet "A Grandmothers tale" is due tomorrow. 





Unit of Inquiry :
Today the grade 4s learned about crime and punishment in the middle ages. The grade 4s came to understand that the laws and sentencing during the Middle Ages were not always fair and just. They also agreed that the our current justice system is much more acceptable than they system that was set in place during the Middle Ages. 
After our cut and paste activity, we had Ms Samuel join us with her class to watch an educational video about armour and weapons. We will be having a quiz about armour and knights on Wednesday, February 27th.

                                     March Break Camps

Forms have been sent home regarding SJA's Awesome Adventure Camp. This wonderful camp will run from Monday to Friday for the entire March Break (March 9-13 & March 16 -20) and is offered to students from JK to Grade 6. Field trips will take place on Thursday afternoon. Meal plans are also included if you choose to do so. Cash or Quickbooks payments are the accepted forms of payment. Don't delay, register today! 

March Lunches  - The lunch site is now open
It will close Wednesday, February 26th at 3:00pm sharp 
Special of the month: French Toast with Whipped Cream and Syrup

All payments are to be made through quickbooks by March 6th.

Covid -19 Updates  Hello and Good Morning Everyone, As you are now aware, St. Jude’s Academy will be closed for the next two weeks due to COVID-19. Good afternoon SJA parents Today the grade 4s began their Data Management Assignment. They conducted a survey about the religious demographic of students and teachers in grades 1-5. For this assignment, the grade 4s are being challenged to collect data, create graphs, and interpret their findings using concepts and terminology learned throughout the unit. This is a two day assignment, so the grade 4s will have the opportunity to complete their assignment tomorrow.  Today in language   the grade 4s will continued to work on their speeches. Some students have begun their third paragraph (subtopic 2).
